Theology: Knowing God, Living Truth

Theology is the study of God—who He is, what He has done, and how we are to respond to Him. If we love Him, we will want to know Him more!

But theology is not just for scholars or pastors.

It is for every believer.

When we understand God rightly:

  • we worship more deeply
  • we follow Jesus more faithfully
  • we love people more clearly
  • we live with greater purpose

This section is designed to help you know God through His Word and grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Why Theology Matters

Theology is not abstract—it is practical.

Every believer already has a theology. The question is not whether we have one, but whether it is true, biblical, and life-giving.

Good theology:

  • shapes how we see God
  • shapes how we understand ourselves
  • shapes how we live and make decisions
  • shapes how we share the Gospel

The goal of theology is not just knowledge.

👉 The goal is transformation—to become people who love God, love others, and follow Jesus in every area of life.

Guiding Principles for a Comprehensive Theology

Our approach to theology is shaped by a desire to know God truly, follow Jesus faithfully, and communicate truth clearly across cultures and backgrounds.

1. Rooted in the Biblical Text

We begin with Scripture and remain anchored in Scripture.

The primary focus of this theology is the biblical text itself—what God has revealed through His Word. Other sources such as historical background, cultural insights, and basic anthropological understanding may be used to clarify meaning, but they will always remain secondary.

Our goal is not to build theology on human ideas, but to understand and apply what God has said.

2. Limited Dependence on Secondary Systems

With rare exceptions, we intentionally limit reliance on:

  • later theological systems
  • speculative philosophy
  • overly abstract or technical frameworks

This does not mean that such works have no value. Rather, we seek to avoid allowing complex systems or traditions to overshadow the clarity of Scripture.

Our aim is a theology that is faithful to the Bible, not dependent on later constructions.

3. Clear and Accessible to All

Jesus consistently taught in ways that ordinary people could understand.

In that same spirit, this theology is written to be:

  • understandable
  • approachable
  • teachable

We believe that theology should not be reserved for specialists. It should be available to every believer, every language group, and every level of education.

4. Simple Without Being Shallow

We aim for clarity without losing depth.

The content in this section is written at approximately an eighth-grade reading level, not to reduce the importance of theology, but to increase its reach.

This means:

  • shorter sentences
  • clear vocabulary
  • minimal jargon

At the same time, we are committed to preserving the full meaning and weight of biblical truth.
