Pastoral Counseling at Our Church
At our church, pastoral counseling is one way we show our love for people. It is part of how we care for people as they grow in their relationship with God and with one another.
Pastoral counseling is spiritual guidance. It is grounded in Scripture and focused on helping individuals:
- understand God’s truth
- grow in faith and obedience
- navigate life challenges with wisdom
- experience encouragement, repentance, and restoration
This kind of counseling may include:
- prayer and spiritual support
- biblical guidance for life decisions
- help with relationships, grief, or discouragement
- encouragement in following Jesus
Our goal is not just to help people feel better, but to help them know God, follow Christ, and live faithfully.
How Pastoral Counseling Is Different
Pastoral counseling is not the same as professional or clinical counseling.

Our pastors and leaders:
- do not diagnose mental health conditions
- do not provide licensed therapy
- do not offer medical or psychological treatment
Instead, we focus on the spiritual and biblical dimensions of life.
When Additional Help Is Needed
We recognize that some situations require specialized care.
If someone is experiencing:
- severe depression or anxiety
- trauma or abuse
- addiction
- suicidal thoughts
- or other mental health concerns
we will encourage and assist in connecting with a licensed counselor or medical professional.
We believe the best care often includes both:
- spiritual support from the church
- and professional care when needed
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- caring for people with compassion and respect
- maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- speaking truth with grace
- recognizing our limits
- helping people find the right kind of care
