Our Rhythms

life-rhythms

Life at Forest Meadow is not built around programs—it is shaped by rhythms.

Rhythms are the patterns that form us over time. They are the repeated moments where we return again and again to the presence of God, to one another, and to the mission Jesus has given us. In a church like ours—many congregations, many languages, one shared home—these rhythms help us live as one church, many congregations.

Weekly Rhythms: Gathering, Growing, Going

Every week, we gather to worship God.

Across our congregations, worship may sound different—different languages, different musical styles, different cultural expressions—but the heart is the same. We come to lift up the name of Jesus, to hear His Word, and to respond in faith. Worship is not just an event; it is the anchor of our week.

We also gather to learn the Scriptures.

Through Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship gatherings, we open the Word together. We ask questions, tell stories, and seek to understand not just what the Bible says, but how to live it out. Some of our groups are highly interactive, some are more structured, and some are designed for oral learners—but all are aimed at one goal: to follow Jesus in everyday life.

And we pray.

Prayer is not a side ministry—it is central. We pray as individuals, in small groups, and as congregations. We pray for one another, for our city, and for the nations. In a church made up of many cultures, prayer becomes a shared language of dependence on God.

These weekly rhythms—worship, Word, and prayer—form the foundation of our life together.

Annual Rhythms: Remembering the Story of God

Throughout the year, we step into the great story of Scripture through the Christian calendar.

Advent teaches us to wait with hope.

Christmas celebrates the coming of Christ.

Easter proclaims the resurrection.

Pentecost reminds us of the Spirit’s power and the birth of the Church.

Even Vacation Bible School reminds us of the importance of our kids’ spiritual development.

These seasons are not just traditions—they are opportunities to align our lives with the story God is telling. In our diverse congregation, these celebrations often take on beautiful cultural expressions, reminding us that the gospel belongs to every people and every language.

Life Milestones: Walking Together Through Every Season

Some moments in life only come once—or a few times—and they matter deeply.

We celebrate births and dedications, welcoming new life as a gift from God.

We honor believers’ baptism, where individuals publicly declare their faith in Jesus. In a church committed to making disciples, baptism is not the end—it is the beginning of a life of following Christ.

We rejoice in marriages, where covenant love reflects God’s faithfulness.

And we walk together through grief and funerals, entrusting our loved ones to God and holding onto the hope of resurrection.

In all of these moments, the church becomes family—standing with one another in joy and in sorrow.

Occasional Rhythms: Celebrating Culture, Deepening Faith

Because we are a multicongregational church, we also share in special gatherings that arise from our life together.

There are cultural celebrations, where different congregations bring their unique heritage, language, and expressions of worship into the life of the whole church. These moments remind us that God’s kingdom is made up of every tribe, tongue, and nation.

There are revivals, conferences, and teaching events, where we seek renewal, deeper understanding, and fresh vision.

There are fellowship gatherings, where we simply share meals, stories, and life together.

These rhythms are not always scheduled the same way each year—but they are essential. They help us grow not only as individuals, but as a unified body.

One Church, Many Congregations

Perhaps the most unique part of our rhythms is this:

We are not one congregation trying to fit everyone into a single pattern.

We are many congregations, each worshiping in heart language and cultural expression, yet sharing one mission, one facility, and one commitment to Christ.

This means our rhythms require intentional coordination, humility, and grace.

Different congregations meet at different times.

Spaces are shared.

Schedules are carefully aligned.

But underneath it all is a deeper unity:

We are one church—loving God, loving people, and making disciples together.

Formed Over Time

Rhythms shape us slowly.

Week by week, year by year, through ordinary gatherings and extraordinary moments, God forms a people who reflect His love and His mission.

If you join us, you won’t just attend events.

You will enter into a rhythm—a way of life—

centered on Jesus,

shared across cultures,

and lived out together.

And over time, those rhythms will begin to shape you too.

Love God. Love People. Follow Jesus.
